HCRG Care limited is delivering the National Immunisation programme on behalf of NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care. The programme has been rolled out nationally to protect the population from vaccine preventable diseases and reduce the associated morbidity and mortality. the information we collect about individuals are as follows: Full demographic information of 5-19 year olds, immunisation details, contraindications to the vaccine and any alternative offered, any refusal of an offer of vaccination details of consent and the relationship of the person who gave the consent; the site and route of vaccination and any adverse reactions to the vaccine.
All relevant immunisation data could potentially be shared with health care professionals involved in the child’s care. Additionally data of flu vaccinations administered outside general practice must be passed back to patients GP practice for timely entry on the electronic patient record and submission for the national data survey hosted by NHS England. This is important for clinical reasons (such as any adverse events) and to avoid inadvertently vaccinating a patient twice. It also ensures that these vaccinations are included in the weekly and monthly vaccine uptake figures.
beside sharing the information with NHS England (anonymised data only) for reporting reasons and with the GP for clinical reasons we will share information with Child Health Information Service (CHIS) provided in-house by HCRG Care Group. CHIS is an NHS commissioned service which is responsible for collation data from various organisations for all children aged 0-19 that are either residents or registered with a GP practice in a specified area, into a single Child Health Record including immunisations (stated in the NHS National Vaccination Schedule).
For the first time this year (2020-21), the NHS will implement a national call and recall service to remind people who are eligible, in addition to the usual correspondence that GPs send out inviting their patients for a flu vaccination. the national letters will be a reminder rather than an invite and will direct people to the types of service that are appropriate for their ‘cohort’ (for instance, over 65 year olds to their registered GP, or a participating community pharmacy) The data recorded vy school age flu vaccination providers will therefore be captured centrally to allow the support of the NHS Flu vaccination Programme call and recall service. Consent to treatment is required as per standard NHS Contract 3.3 and must be obtained prior to giving any immunisations. HCRG Care Group uses Cinnamon as their digital immunisations consent service which enables services to improve public health vaccination programmes and mitigates data security risks. All related consent data is held in a secure data centre in England which only limited numbers members of the Cinnamon team have access to. Cinnamon is an approved system that underwent a rigorous review prior to deployment. More information can be found here .
Please note that the information collected about you when you use our services can also be used and provided to other organisations for purposes beyond individual care, for instance to help with improving the quality and standards of care provided, research into the development of new treatments. preventing illness and disease and other. This will only ever take place if there is a clear legal basis to use information. However, you have a choice about whether you want your confidential patient information to be used in this way. If you do choose to opt-out your confidential patient information will still be used to support your individual care. To find out more or to register your choice to opt out, please visit here. Please note that we have not provided any immunisation data for this purpose in the last two previous financial years.
